Overview

Public tracking pages let you share a live view of any shipment with people outside your organization — customers, receivers, freight partners — without requiring them to log in.

Each public tracking page shows real-time status, an interactive map, transport details, and container information. Visitors can subscribe to receive email updates when the shipment status changes.

Enabling Public Tracking

Public tracking is configured per organization:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Under Public Status Page, toggle Enable public status pages on
  3. Configure what information is visible:
    • Share documents — Choose which document types are publicly accessible (e.g., Transport Documents, Packing Lists)
    • Show packing summary — Whether to display pallet counts, box totals, and weight information

Once enabled, every shipment gets a public tracking URL that you can share.

What Visitors See

The public tracking page at /track/your-org/shipments/:id shows:

  • Organization name and shipment reference
  • Status badge — Current shipment status (Pending, In Transit, Arrived, etc.)
  • Live tracking map — Interactive map with route and position (same as the internal tracking view)
  • Progress bar — Visual journey progress with departure, transshipment, and arrival points
  • Transport details — Origin, destination, ETD, ETA, transport reference, carrier, vessel/flight
  • Containers — Container numbers, seal numbers, and individual ETAs (ocean shipments)
  • Shared documents — Download links for selected document types
  • Packing summary — Produce types, pallet/box counts, and weights (if enabled)

Only shipments with an active status are visible publicly. Draft or pending shipments are not accessible.

Email Subscriptions

Visitors can subscribe to shipment updates without creating a Trackberry account:

  1. On the public tracking page, enter an email address in the Get Updates form
  2. A confirmation email is sent to verify the address
  3. Click the confirmation link in the email
  4. From then on, the subscriber receives email updates when:
    • The shipment status changes
    • The ETA is revised
    • The transport reference is updated

Each notification email includes an unsubscribe link to stop receiving updates.

You can share the public tracking URL directly with anyone. The URL format is:

text
https://trackberry.ag/track/your-org-slug/shipments/123

Tip: Signed-in members who visit the public tracking URL are automatically redirected to the full internal shipment view (if they have that preference enabled in their settings).

Access Control

  • Public tracking pages only work when Enable public status pages is turned on in organization settings
  • Admins control which document types and data sections are visible
  • No authentication is required to view the page or subscribe to updates
  • Private shipment data (quality checks, audit logs, pallet details beyond the summary) is never exposed on the public page
